Mae Bartley

Passed away peacefully at home on Monday, August 14, 2023. Born in Lion’s Head on August 18, 1935, Mae Merle Bartley (nee Stewart) of Owen Sound, was in her 88th year.
Beloved wife of Crawford Bartley of Owen Sound. Loving mother of Terry (Kim) Bartley of Owen Sound, Dianne (Sandy) Taylor of Owen Sound, Molly Byers (Don Richardson) of Mount Forest, and Sheila (Rob) Turney of Leith. Cherished grandma of Curtis (Jacky), Jessica (Cody), Adam (Megan), John, Michael (Alicia), Mark (Marissa) and Jacob (Taya). Great-grandma of Isabelle, Natalee, Coen and Nash. Dear sister of Evelene Kaizer and Elda Oldrieve. Mae will be missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended families.
Predeceased by her parents Grant and Sarah Stewart, her 9 brothers, 1 sister and her in-laws John and Pearl Bartley.
Mae expressed a massive love for her family and for children. She taught Sunday School and ran a home daycare, which made her Nana to many children over the years.
Visitation will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Sunday, August 20, 2023 from 5-8 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate Mae’s life will be held at the funeral home on Monday August 21, 2023 at 11 a.m. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be livestreamed and a recorded version will be posted online. Interment will take place in Eastnor Cemetery.
