Shirley June Beckett

Peacefully at Chapman House on Monday, December 11, 2023. Born in Keppel Township on June 19, 1937, Shirley June Beckett (nee Porter) of Owen Sound, was in her 87th year.
Beloved wife of Stan Beckett of Owen Sound. Loving mother of Jeff Beckett (Lisa) of Owen Sound, and John Beckett (Mavis) of Kemble. Cherished grandma of Tyler (Devan), Linsey (Kyle), Matt (Jocelyn) and Anna (Ben). Great grandma of Clinton, Lily, Willem, Cameron, Jaxon and Violet. Dear sister of Jim (Helen) Porter, Leone Wrath, Irene Peer (Murray), Joyce Bell and Pat (Glenn) Wilkinson. Dear sister-in-law to Bill Beckett (Muriel), Dianne Carlson, Lorraine Rutherford, Isabel Porter, Brenda Porter, and Carolyn Porter. June will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Predeceased by her parents Russel and Rita Porter, siblings Ray Porter (Shirley), Jack Porter (Kay, June), Joe Porter (Rhoda), Norman Porter, Carl Porter, and by her in-laws Peter Wrath, Ross Munn, Stew Bell, Dave Carlson, Jim Rutherford and Joy Beckett.
A memorial service to celebrate June’s life will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at 3:00 p.m., with visitation 2 hours prior. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be live-streamed. Interment will take place in Oxenden Cemetery at a later date.
