Peacefully at home on January 12, 2024  in his 85^th year.  Beloved husband of 58 years of Margaret. Much loved father of Brent (Tammy) of Williamsford and Scott (Dara) of Toronto. Treasured Grandfather of Amelia, Chloe, Myles, Clayton, Nathan and Madison.

Loving brother to Grace Ann (Dr. William) Bavington of St. John’s Newfoundland and predeceased by his siblings Bud Willis, Jean Beer, Joy Henry and Gwen Beer. Much loved uncle, cousin and friend.

Eber was born to George and Sarah Anne Willis on November 26, 1939 in Sudbury, Ontario and was raised in Willisville. He attended Western University and Osgoode Hall where he became a lawyer.  He moved to Markdale in 1968 to practice law with Harris & Dunlop Law Firm, with offices in Markdale, Durham and Dundalk, where he soon became a partner. In 2013 he sold the practice to Kevin McMeeken after practicing law for 44 years.

Eber was a proud member of the Kinsmen and Rotary Club of Markdale.

He enjoyed many summers at his cottage in Sauble Beach and sailing along Lake Huron and Georgian Bay.

The family will receive friends at Fawcett Funeral Cremation Reception, 1 Highland Drive, Flesherton on Thursday, January 18 from 10:00am until the time of service at 12:00pm. Reception to follow.  Cremation has taken place, spring interment at St. John’s Cemetery Glenelg.
