Huron-Kinloss is getting ready to do complete renovations for the Ripley Medical and Child Care Centre.
The work will update the medical centre, which hasn’t been used since the pandemic. Once work is complete, the medical centre will be attended by Dr. Jason Murray from the Kincardine Family Health Team.
The construction on the downstairs portion of the building will see a 13-space expansion for their child care centre as well.
The Chief Administrative Officer for the Township of Huron-Kinloss, Mary Rose Walden, says that during the work, the child care centre will temporarily be housed at the Ripley-Huron Community Centre.
“It’s really important work because we are increasing the child care spaces by 13 spaces,” says Walden. “And the medical centre, I believe was built in the 1970s, and needs to be upgraded.”
The work is set to start at the beginning of April, and is expected to be wrapped up in August.
Walden says that community response to the proposed renovation has been positive, and says that the township was thrilled to be able to get community partners together to complete the work.
