Peacefully at Chapman House Hospice on Tuesday, July 2, 2024. Born on Friday, October 15, 1948, William “Bill” Bruce King of Owen Sound was in his 76th year.
Devoted husband of Marlene Carol King (nee Kuhl). Proud father of Paul King and April King (Brandon Stauffer). Loving grandfather of Benjamin Redmond (Liv Ewart), Brayden Redmond and Izabella Karpowicz-King. Cherished Papa Bill of Susan, Jonathan, Shelly, Caleb, Cassidy and Bria Teschke. Loved stepson of Shirley King (nee Kellough). Dear brother of John (Honey), Edward (Lori), Anabel (Terry Spiers), Elgin (Heidi), Gwen Solay (Rick), Robert (Carla), Richard, Douglas, Carol Finley, Annette Miller, Patty Stephens, Jackie and Cindy MacEwan (Steve), and brother-in-law of Cheryl King, Lorna Kingston (Jim), Barb Schwartz (Herb), Jerry Funck, Darlene Somers, Donna Beckett, Sandra Weatherall (Eric), Lois Gamble (Ian), Janice Klages (John) and Marohl Kuhl (Diane). Bill will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Predeceased by his parents Duncan “Garnet” King and Flora Catherine Anne Johnson, his brother Donald King, and his siblings-in-law Gord Langdon, June Funck and Doug Beckett.
Bill was an active part of his community and volunteered for multiple organizations in the area. His compassionate nature and his love for his family will be amongst the many memories we hold dear to our hearts.
Visitation will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492 on Friday, July 5, 2024 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate Bill’s life will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 136167 Concession Road 8, Desboro, on Sunday July 7, 2024 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Brian Dunlop officiating. Interment will take place in Faith Lutheran Church Cemetery followed by a reception at the Williamsford Community Centre, 112 Salter Street, Williamsford.
