Passed away peacefully at Brightshores Health System – Owen Sound on Saturday, November 23, 2024. Born in Owen Sound on June 14, 1931, Murray David Scott of Owen Sound, was in his 94th year.
Beloved husband of the late Dorothy Scott (nee Bell). Loving father of Steven Scott (Laura) of Arizona, Margaret Greenaway (Tom) of Owen Sound, and Marc Scott (Kim) of Kilsyth. Grandfather of Matthew (Jaki), Daniel (Heather), Benjamin (Jenny), Michael (Lindsay), Scott, Alisha (Shane), Sarah, Jack and Charlie. Proud great grandpa of 18 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Jean Davidson (Gerry) of Owen Sound, and step-father of Mike Shepski (Susan) and Tom.
Predeceased by his second wife Helen Robinson, parents George and Margaret Scott, and by his brothers Ken Scott (Betty), Jim Scott (Betty) and Don Scott (Gwen).
Murray was known for his quick wit and sarcasm.
As the self proclaimed “Bolt King”, Murray founded Scott’s Industrial and Farm Supply in the early 1980’s.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Bruce Stanners who went above and beyond with his commitment to Murray’s care over the last years.
In keeping with Murray’s wishes, cremation is taking place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492.
