Members of the Grey Bruce OPP and the South Bruce Peninsula Fire Department are gearing up for a friendly charity hockey game in Wiarton this evening.
It’s a fundraiser for the fire department’s toy drive and the Salvation Army.
The game is set to take place on December 13, 2024, from 5p.m. to 6p.m. at the Wiarton Arena (526 Taylor Street, Wiarton).
Admission to the event is by cash donation, toys for the fire department’s toy drive, or a non-perishable food item for the Salvation Army Food Bank. The event is open to the public and promises to be a fun, family-friendly occasion.
Provincial Constable Chad Thompson shared a bit of friendly competition, saying, “It was a close one last year, but we (the OPP) pulled off the win.”
They’re encouraging everyone to come out to support these great causes and enjoy the action as the OPP and the South Bruce Peninsula Fire Department go head-to-head on the ice.
