Peacefully at peopleCare Meaford on Friday, December 13, 2024. Born in Arran Township on February 18, 1938, Robert Donald Emmerson of Meaford was in his 87th year.
Beloved husband of Lois Emmerson (nee Stewart) of Owen Sound. Loving father of Larry Emmerson (Dale) of Markdale, Debbie Atchison (Steve) of Owen Sound, Kathy Clarke (Tom) of Tara and Kimberley Lorenz (Jeff) of Owen Sound. Cherished grandpa of Heidi (Trevor), Andrew (Amanda), Stephanie (John), Bradley (Delynn), Brent (Krystal), Brooke (Greg) and Anna (Dan). Loving great-grandfather of Cole, Lance, Owen, Madeline, Quinn, Bentin, Mia, Landen, Damien, Tanner, Ryan and Odin. Dear brother of George Emmerson of Owen Sound, Olive Stanley (Cliff) of Owen Sound and Alvin Emmerson (Dorothy) of Brantford. Don will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
Predeceased by his parents Allen and Adeline Emmerson, by his grandson Dwayne, by his siblings Bev Emmerson (Phyllis), Clair Emmerson, 2 infant siblings, and by his sister-in-law Pearl Emmerson.
Visitation will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Friday, December 20, 2024 from 6 – 9 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate Don’s life will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 11 a.m. with visitation 1 hour prior. For those that are unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed. Spring interment will take place in McLean’s Cemetery.
