Peacefully, in his sleep, at Southbridge Long Term Care Home in Owen Sound on Sunday, December 15, 2024, Robert Archibald Tuck of Bognor, in his 98th year. Bob was born in the parlour of the old farmhouse at his beloved Springvalley Farm on October 23, 1927.
He was the loving husband of Doreen Elizabeth Tuck (nee Alcox) until she predeceased him in June of this year. He will be sadly missed by his son Edward Tuck of Orillia and his daughters Elizabeth Smith (Dan) of Strathroy and Cheryl Stranks (Jim) of Bognor. Cherished Grandpa of Samuel Stranks (Candace), Edward Stranks (Kate), Adrian Smith (Emily), Michael Stranks (Melissa), Linnea Vegso (Cale) and Patrick Stranks (Miriam). Great-Grandpa to 14. Dear brother of Lawrence Tuck of Owen Sound and brother-in-law of Ruth McInnis, Iowna Turner, Maryon Hunter and Joe Allison.
Predeceased by his parents Archibald and Christina Tuck of Bognor and parents-in-law W.W. and Gladys Alcox of Markdale, by his sister Louise Stout-Teschke, by his brothers-in-law Jack Stout, Elmer Teschke, George McInnis, Eldon Turner, Jack Hunter and Bill Alcox and by his sisters-in-law Ruth Tuck and Leona Allison.
Bob will be remembered for his love of his family, his music, his farm, his church and his community. To all he met, he was a thoughtful, pleasant, kind, and generous gentleman. The family wishes to thank everyone at Southbridge for their care of him over the past six months and Brenda for her generous and loving care, first in his home and then at Southbridge with her visits. You helped to brighten his life after Mom died.
A funeral service to remember Bob will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492. on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 11:00 am, with visitation one hour prior and reception to follow at the funeral home. Spring interment in McLean’s Cemetery. The service will be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person and a recorded version will be posted to the funeral home website.
