More snow is expected in Bruce and Grey counties today.
Snow squall warnings continue throughout the region, as Environment Canada says lake effect squalls off Lake Huron and Georgian Bay will continue today.
Most areas are expected to get a few centimetres throughout the day. The Bruce Peninsula could see around 15 centimetres, and the Owen Sound area and northern Grey County around 10 centimetres. Tuesday evening, forecasters are calling for 10-20 centimetres of snow around the region.
“Westerly winds gusting to 50 km/h may result in local blowing snow, predominantly for exposed areas near Lake Huron and Georgian Bay. A change in wind direction will shift the lake effect snow into areas southeast of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay tonight into Wednesday. Lake effect snow will gradually taper in intensity through the day on Wednesday,” Environment Canada says in its warning.
Environment Canada advises snow squalls can cause travel conditions to deteriorate rapidly.
“If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop,” Environment Canada says.
All school buses in Bruce and Grey counties have been cancelled today.
