Yet another official has resigned over taking a vacation during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Premier Doug Ford’s office said in a statement last night that he accepted the resignation of Linda Hasenfratz, CEO of automotive parts manufacturer Linamar, who is also a member of the province’s COVID-19 Vaccination Distribution Task Force.
Hasenfratz reportedly vacationed in Barbados in December, but that has yet to be confirmed.
She becomes the latest of about a dozen Canadian officials who have travelled out of the country despite all levels of government asking residents to refrain from non-essential travel to stop the spread of COVID-19.
Hasenfratz has apologized and said she regrets her decision to travel.
