Surrounded by her children, peacefully on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at her home in Durham, formerly of Hornby and Markdale, at the young age of 88. She is reunited with her husband Geoffrey. Loving mother of Geoffrey(Maureen) of Whitby, Patricia(Rod) McLeod of Burlington, Robert(Tracey) of Millbrook, Darryl(Dionne) of Durham and the late Mark Andrew. Cherished grandmother of Ainslie, Olivia, Christina, Mark, Jenna, Shawn, and Camryn. Loved and remembered by great grandchildren Chase, Madison, Nickolas, and Mila. Dear Aunt of Darlene Timonio and her husband Paul, niece Beverley Bell and great and great-great nephews and nieces.
Jean is predeceased by her son-in-law Nick Marusic, brother Robert Cook, sister Wavie Bell, sisters-in-law Doris and Agnes Cook, nephew Douglas Cook and his wife Donna.
Born in Paris Ontario, the youngest of four children to Olive Robinson and Robert Cook, she grew up during the Great Depression and WW II. Married for 56 years until her husband’s death in 2012, Jean was devoted to her family, friends, and her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. She died of metastatic lung cancer which spread to the brain. The family would like to thank the care teams in Grey County, Joseph Brant Hospital, and the SW LHIN Palliative Care Team.
The family will receive friends at Fawcett Funeral Cremation Reception Ltd.(1 Highland Drive, Flesherton) on Saturday, February 13 from 12:30-1:30 p.m.(please RSVP on our website or by calling the office). Funeral Service from the funeral home chapel at 2:00 p.m. with livestream available at www.facebook.com/fawcettfuneralhome. Private family burial at St. Stephen’s Anglican Cemetery in Hornby.
