It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear Mom & Nana, Rosalie MacDonald (nee Duggan) on February 9th, 2021 at the Grey Bruce Health Services.
Rose was the beloved wife of the late Archie MacDonald (2017). Our mom will be deeply missed by her children Mary Lou & Bill Brennan of London, Jan & Steve McArthur of Owen Sound and Bill MacDonald also of Owen Sound. She is loved and remembered by her grandchildren Michael, Meghan, Mitchell & Emilee, Jessica & Sean, Adam & Amanda, Zoe, Savannah, Jack, Vita and Jesse. Nana’s grandchildren were the joy of her life.
Rose was the daughter of the late Michael and Eleanor Duggan of the Irish Block.
Rose is survived by her sisters Louise & Paul Hatton and Ruthie Cundle and her sister-in-law Ann MacDonald. She will be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brothers and sister Walter, Carl, Bernie and Ina and also by her in-laws Jean, Chick, Helen, Marion, Kay and Buck. Mom leaves a legacy of family and many dear friends, neighbours and community members.
She enjoyed her happy times at Rainbow Beach and always a good card game. Mom was an active member of St. Mary’s Parish. It brings us peace knowing that her beloved Archie will be waiting for her with open arms.
A Graveside Service for Rosalie MacDonald will be held at a later date at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Irish Block. Arrangements entrusted to the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th Street West, Owen Sound, ON, N4K 3X8 (519-376-7492). In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Chapman House Hospice or the Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation as an expression of sympathy.
