Saugeen Shores police have charged a man with arson in connection to a fire in Port Elgin last September.
Police say it happened September 20th in a multi unit building at 560 Ivings Drive.
They say the 40 year old man in the affected unit was critically injured with severe burns. He was air lifted by ORNGE to London Health Sciences Burn Unit and eventually recovered.
With assistance from the Ontario Fire Marshall, the Saugeen Shores Fire department, the Toronto Centre of Forensic Sciences and Health Canada, the 40 year old male occupant has been charged with several offences.
1. Arson – Damage to Property
2. Altering or offering to alter the chemical or physical properties of cannabis by the use of an organic solvent
3. Possession of illicit cannabis
Police have not named the man, and say he was released and will appear in Walkerton Court on a future date.
