McCartney, Betty – of Hepworth, suddenly on Tuesday March 23, 2021. Annie Elizabeth “Betty” McCartney (nee Davenport) at the age of 87 years.
Cherished mother of Larry and his wife, Joanne, of Clavering; mother-in-law of Becky McCartney (Bob), of Hepworth, Cliff and his wife Karen, of Markdale; Daryl and his partner, Connie, Paul and his wife, Edith, both of Wiarton; Nancy McCartney (Steve) and partner Mike Cain, of Owen Sound, Edsol and his wife, Nancy, of Calgary; Gladys and her husband, Wayne Cruickshank, of Rolla, BC; and Marlene Stewart and her partner Daniel Jack, of Spruce Grove, AB. Devoted grandmother of 26; and great-grandmother of 39.
Beloved sister of Ross Davenport (partner Mae Sutherland), of Owen Sound. Predeceased by her husband, Gordon (2004); sons, Bob (2020) and Steven (2005); grandsons, Jeremy (2005), and Marshall (2013); sister, Helen Neath; and by Gordon’s siblings.
A private family celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday March 30, 2021 at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Peninsula Chapel, 272 Berford St., Wiarton (519) 534-5341. Although the service is private, friends are welcome to view the service via Zoom at 12 noon by selecting the ‘Attend Zoom Meeting’ on Betty’s page on the funeral home website.
Public visitation will take place from 1-2 PM at the Wiarton chapel, and interment will take place at 3 PM at Boyd Cemetery, Shallow Lake. Attendance is limited, so please RSVP on Betty’s page.
