Joyce Helen (nee Davenport) Weber of Ayton died peacefully at University Hospital-London Health Sciences Centre on Tuesday, April 27th in her 71st year.
Born on December 1, 1950 in Owen Sound to the late Frederick and Helen (nee Hemstock) Davenport.
Joyce was actively involved in many community activities in the area of music, 4-H, Junior Farmers, and the Ontario Plowmen’s Association. She was a dedicated educator for 25 years with the Grey County and Bluewater District School Boards, and a former Grey County School Board Trustee from 1985 to 1994.
Survived by loving husband of 45 years, Carl. Dear mother of Dr. Sarah Weber (Alexander Jones) of Tiverton, Heather Weber of Kincardine, and Erich Weber of Ayton. Joyce is fondly remembered by her siblings Keith (Carol) Davenport of Owen Sound, Murray (Patricia) Davenport of Lakefield, Audrey (David) Medcalf of Aurora, Lloyd (Hilda) Davenport of London, and Brian (Susan) Davenport of Owen Sound. Loving sister-in-law to Thomas (Joanne) Weber of Normanby Township, and Leonard (Amy) Weber of Carrick Township. Proud aunt to her many nieces and nephews and their families. She is predeceased by her parents, Frederick and Helen Davenport, and her parents-in-law, Wilfred and Iva Weber, and her nephew, Ward Weber.
Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Westmount-LHSC Kidney Care, Hanover and District Hospital, Guelph General Hospital ICU, Victoria Hospital-LHSC, and University Hospital-LHSC for the care that Joyce received over the years.
