Peacefully, and surrounded by his family, Vern Bowles of Chatsworth, passed at GBHS Owen Sound on Saturday, January 30 2021, in his 68th year.
Loving husband and best friend to Patricia “Tish” (nee Graff), for nearly 40 years. Adored by their children Jason of St. Catherines, Alisha (Garth Lumley) of Desboro, and Becky of Chatsworth. Pa and best buddies to granddaughter Kylie and grandson Conner. Dear brother of Evelyn Carter, Georgena Bowles, Willa Elliot (Mike), and George Bowles (Debbie). Fondly remembered by his sister-in-law Diane Gutteridge, and many loving nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents William and Mary Bowles (nee Burrell), parents-in-law Ray and Zora Graff, sister-in-law Donna Graff, and brother-in-law Dave Gutteridge.
Vern will be remembered for his love of making- and eating- maple syrup, cutting firewood and logs, and his willingness to help anyone in need. His sense of humour was one of a kind, and his quiet, thoughtful, forgiving and patient nature endeared him to all who knew him. He will miss his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs, who he coached from his armchair from their beginning.
Cremation has taken place and arrangements entrusted to the Garafraxa Hill Funeral Home, Chatsworth. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
The family wish to thank the staff at GBHS- Owen Sound for their comfort, care, and compassion.
If desired, memorial donations to the Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation, or Grey-Bruce Animal Shelter, would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.garafraxahillfuneral.com
