Gilbert, Barb – of Wiarton, peacefully at Brightshores Health System – Wiarton on Saturday January 18, 2025. Barbara Diane Gilbert (nee Wright) in her 76th year.
Devoted wife of Alan for 49 years. Beloved mother of Allana (Jim Lewis), of Paisley, and Rebecca “Becky” Gilbert (fiancé Gregory Stam), of Port McNichol. Cherished grandmother of Quaiden, Peyton, Riley, and Reese. Dear sister of Joanne Thomas (late Stan), of St. Mary’s, Donna Steip, of St. Thomas, Betty Lawrence (late Bob), of Sarnia, Paul Wright (late Kathy Balls), and Connie Stewart (late Daryl McCartney), both of Wiarton; and sister-in-law of Clifford Gilbert (Ann), of Purple Valley. Sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews; her best friend Marie McLean; and by her feline friend, “Rosie-girl”.
Barb loved bingo, making preserves with Alan, craft and yard sales, and will be remembered as your Avon Lady. Family wish to thank Barb’s PSWs Jocelyn, Catherine and Heather, and the doctors and nursing staff of the Wiarton Hospital.
You are invited to visitation at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Peninsula Chapel, 272 Berford St., Wiarton 519-534-5341 on Thursday January 23, 2025 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A service to celebrate Barb’s life will be conducted from The Meeting Place, 575 Edward St., Wiarton on Friday at 1 o’clock.
