Bettridge, Barry – aged 76, passed away peacefully at Chapman House Hospice in Owen Sound on Thursday November 25th after a courageous battle with cancer.
Loving partner of Julie Seddon, and her daughter Jackie of Sauble Beach. Fondly remembered by his three daughters Annette (Allen Cook), Nicole (Drew Kalte), and Nadine Bettridge all of Owen Sound. Cherished Grampa of Alicia (Mike), Andie, Noah, Desiree, and Ella. Dear brother Marilyn Langille (Ron) of Brampton. Brother-in-law of Carol Dodds (Jack) of Aurora, and Rick Robb (Barb) of Owen Sound.
Predeceased by his parents William and Elsie Bettridge, former wife Anita, and many siblings…Bill, Albert, Florence, Betty, Margaret, and Bob. Barry will be sadly missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and plenty of friends, including Colleen.
Barry was a Draftsperson by trade, also had his CIM and worked many years as a Quality Control Manager. His true passion was his store, the Sauble Beach Outpost. He had a strong presence in the Sauble Beach community as a Chamber of Commerce member, and a long time Lion’s member. He was frequently seen at the Sauble Community Ctr setting up for special events. Most knew Barry with his guitar. He was musical as he could hop on any instrument and play. His guitar went with him to every get-together, and social event. His affection for music was memorable.
Family wish to express their gratitude to the exemplary care at Chapman House in Owen Sound.
Family and friends will gather for an interment at Zion Cemetery, Hepworth on Saturday December 4th at 1pm. Anyone wishing to attend the interment must RSVP from Barry’s page on the funeral home website. A Celebration of Barry’s life will take place at the Sauble Beach Community Ctr from 2-5pm.
