Basil Arthur Roy Doman

Passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, January 1, 2024. Born in London, Ontario on July 27, 1941, Basil Arthur Roy Doman of Owen Sound, was in his 83rd year.
Beloved husband of Margaret “Margie” Doman (nee Gilchrist, formerly Duncan) of 28 years. Loving father of Trevor (Amanda), Scott (Lisa), Justin and Andrea (Jeff). Father of Chris, Jeff and Lori. Cherished grandpa of Kylee, Emily, Lachlan, Benjamin, Greer, Vaughan and Ty. Roy will also be missed by extended family and friends.
Predeceased by his parents Basil and Ruby Doman, his sister Judy Doman, and by his in-laws Donald and Marjorie Gilchrist.
Roy enjoyed watching wrestling, game shows and going to the casino and doing wonderwords. He was a successful businessman that enjoyed his down time sitting outside and gabbing with friends. He loved spending time down at the harbor watching the boats come in.
Visitation will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Sunday, January 7, 2024, from 6-8 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate Roy’s life will be held at the funeral home on Monday, January 8, 2024 at 11 a.m., with David Fries officiating. Followed by a reception at the funeral home. Interment will take place in the spring in Leith Cemetery.
