Whitcroft, Betty – of Southampton and formerly of Red Bay, peacefully at the Southampton Care Centre on Saturday June 11, 2022.
Betty Kay Isobel Whitcroft (nee Coveney) at the age of 86 years. Dear mother of Tom and his wife, Kim Lenz, of Georgian Bluffs, and Peter, of Sauble Falls. Cherished grandma “Blue Gramma” of Jeffrey and Christopher, both of Wiarton. Proud ‘gramma Betty’ to Kim’s children, Melissa and her husband Mike, of Squamish, BC, and Josh and his wife Lisa, of Amherstburg; and ‘great-gramma Betty’ to Jack and River.
Betty was an amazing mom, grandma, aunt, special-education teacher, and friend.
She is predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Annetta Coveney; her husband, and love of her life, Harvey (2003); siblings, Hector, Jack, Iola, Edna, Irene, and Mary; and Harvey’s brother, Darrell.
Tom and Pete wish to express their gratitude to Dr. Somerville, and to the staff of the Southampton Care Centre; and to her thoughtful nieces and friends.
Friends may gather at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Peninsula Chapel, 272 Berford St., Wiarton (519) 534-5341 on Friday June 17, 2022 from 2-4 PM, and on Saturday from 1-3PM. There will be a Time of Sharing to celebrate Betty’s life at 2 o’clock.
Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association, or in support of the Wiarton Library (Betty’s second home) would be appreciated. Condolences may be expressed online at www.whitcroftfuneralhome.com
