It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Blanche Mower, our loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and friend to all whose lives she touched. Blanche left us to join the angels peacefully in her sleep in her 99th year on July 13th, 2022.
Blanche was loved dearly by her beautiful children Gordon (Mary-Ann), Cherlene (Russ), the late Ron (Marion); and her sisters Iva and Olive; Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren.
Predeceased by her loving husband Howard of 52 years, sisters; Myrtle, Edna, Hazel, and granddaughter Cathy.
Born in Meaford on August 30, 1923, a daughter of the late George and Mabel (nee Dixon) Seabrook. Blanche lived a full life, spending many memorable years on the farm and living in Walter Falls before moving to Meaford in 1979.
She volunteered at the local hospital and church living the golden rule; treat others as you would have them treat you. She loved to knit anything and everything for her family and friends, so highly skilled at sewing and quilting. Blanche used that talent to create over 100 quilts and left her mark on many as part of a weekly quilting club. She enjoyed an afternoon tea watching the birds and appreciating the lovely gardens she spent many hours in. Evenings were spent around the card table surrounded by laughter, playing pepper and cribbage.
Most of all, she loved her family and friends. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. Please join us in celebrating Blanche’s life at the Meaford United Church on Monday, July 18th at 2 o’clock with visiting the hour prior to service.
As your expression of sympathy, donations to the Meaford United Church or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated and may be made through the Ferguson Funeral Home, 48 Boucher St. E., Meaford, ON N4L 1B9 to whom arrangements have been entrusted.
