Brenda Anne Dooks

Passed away suddenly but peacefully at Southbridge Long Term Care, on Sunday, September 22, 2024, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Born on Saturday, April 25, 1942, Brenda Anne Dooks (nee Irwin) of Owen Sound, was in her 83rd year.
Beloved wife and best friend of Bob Dooks for 57 years. Loving mother of Kevin Dooks (Sheryl), and cherished grandma of Isaac (Boyun), Rachel, and Ethan. Dear sister of Marilyn McGregor (Bill) and George Irwin (Deborah), sister-in-law of Carol Irwin, Donna VanSlyke (Van) and Keith Dooks (Barb). Brenda will also be missed by her nieces, nephews and friends.
Predeceased by her parents Ted and Anne Irwin, and her brother Rick Irwin.
Brenda loved her family passionately and always looked forward to her family gatherings. Her pleasure in cooking for her family will be amongst the many memories we will fondly remember. Whenever Brenda could, she traveled and enjoyed attending dances and concerts with Bob.
Thanks to all the amazing staff at Southbridge for their excellent care over the past years.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday September 28th from 2-4pm and in keeping with the family’s wishes a private service will be held on Sunday September 29th at 11am. Arrangements are entrusted to Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to Chapman House Hospice would be appreciated.
