Passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side at Brucelea Haven in Walkerton, on October 19, 2022. Born on September 25, 1933 in Gorrie, Ontario, Edith Merilyn Cameron (née Hastie) of Walkerton, formerly of Owen Sound, was in her 90th year. Dearly loved wife of the late Wallace Cameron (2008) and the late John Blythe (1982). Loving mother of Ken Blythe (Karen Hadenko) of Otterville, Karen French, Jacqueline Love (Keith) both of Shallow Lake, Jean Klein (Paul) of Millbank, Tom Blythe of Hamilton, Keith Blythe (Lawrence Ryan) of Norwich, and stepmother of Bonnie-Jean ‘BJ’ Davidson (Wayne) of Allenford, Lou Cameron (Ken McMillan) of Toronto, and Don Cameron (Mary Louise) of Owen Sound. Cherished grandma of 20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Margaret Finnigan (Keith) of London, and sister-in-law of Eileen Hastie of Brussels, Mary Hastie of Toronto, Betty Abbs of Cobble Beach, and Betty Blythe of Kitchener. Edith will also be missed by her many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by her parents Kenneth and Lillian Hastie, her son-in-law Paul French, siblings Bob Hastie, Tom Hastie, Marie Strong (Bob), and by her brothers-in-law, Bev Blythe and Willard Abbs. Visitation will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound 250 – 14th St. W., 519-376-7492 on October 26, 2022 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate Edith’s life will be held in the funeral home on October 27, 2022 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Jeff Hawkins officiating. The service will be livestreamed via the funeral home website. Interment will take place in Boyd Cemetery, Shallow Lake, followed by a reception.
