Peacefully, at her home in Port Elgin on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 in her 84th year.
Christine (nee Parry) will be missed by her beloved husband of 62 years, Peter; her children Alwyn (Carolyne), Beverley (Christopher), and Clifford (Vicki); her six granddaughters Natalie (Eric), Susan, Laura, Katie (Trent), Simone (Jack), and Amélie; and three great grandchildren Rose-Marie, Theo, and Hadley. Dear sister of Maureen (Molly) of Gatwick, UK. Christine will be missed by her nieces, nephews and cousins throughout the Commonwealth and America.
Predeceased by her sisters Joan, Sylvie, Valerie, Gwen, and Daphne, and by her brother Gerald.
Christine and Peter emigrated from England in 1968, settling in Port Elgin in 1972. Over five decades, Christine was involved in the community in a myriad of activities including being an election enumerator, Boy Scout camp cook, Anglican Church member and trustee, golfer, aqua-fit attendee and a long-standing advocate for the Centennial Pool replacement. An avid reader, walker and budding bird watcher, she loved being in her garden, soaking up the sun, and going to the beach to see its famous sunsets. Christine formed many lifelong friendships and many fond memories here. Her cherry hello, sense of humour and pragmatic approach to any and all of life’s adversities will be missed.
