Of Wiarton, peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Grey Bruce Health Services, Wiarton, on Sunday August 7, 2022 at the age of 62 years.
Beloved husband and best friend of Connie Stewart (nee Wright) for 24 years. Devoted father to Ashley McCartney (partner Ryan Bain), of Clavering, Matthew McCartney (Amy), of Oliphant, and Danielle (Jesiah Sutter), of East Kemptville, NS; and step-father to Hollie (Don White), of Victoria, BC, and Brice Stewart (partner Shannon Taylor), of Owen Sound. Cherished grandpa, papa, and ‘papa-Timbit’ of Avary, Milee, Rhyse, Breanna, Jessa, Mayah, Evelynne, Joshua, and Zachary. Much loved brother of Larry (Joanne), of Clavering; Cliff (Karen), of Markdale; Paul (Edith), of Wiarton; Edsol (Nancy), of Calgary; Gladys (Wayne Cruickshank), of Rollo, BC; and Marlene Stewart (partner Daniel Jack), of Sherwood Park, AB. Brother-in-law of Becky McCartney; Nancy McCartney; Joanne Thomas (late Stan); Donna Steip, Barb (Al Gilbert); Betty Lawrence (late Bob); and Paul Wright (partner Kathy).
Predeceased by his parents, Gordon and Betty (nee Davenport); brothers, Steve and Bob; and nephews, Jeremy McCartney and Marshall McCartney. Sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Family invite friends to gather for visitation at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Peninsula Chapel, 272 Berford St., Wiarton (519) 534-5341 on Thursday August 11, 2022 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A service to celebrate Daryl’s life will be conducted from The Meeting Place, 575 Edward St., Wiarton on Friday at 11 o’clock. Interment in Bayview Cemetery, Wiarton.
