After suffering a stroke, Dinie passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side at Chapman House Hospice, Owen Sound, on Saturday, June 19, 2021. Born in The Netherlands on March 8, 1951, Dina Ritchie (née Koeslag) of Owen Sound, was in her 71st year.
Dearly beloved wife of the late Murray Ritchie (April 2011). Loving mother of Adam Ritchie of Toronto, Laura Ritchie-Seaman and her husband Aden Seaman of Waterloo and Joel Ritchie and his wife Melissa of Hamilton. Much loved Oma of Spencer, Oliver and Claire Ritchie of Hamilton and Ainsley and Owen Seaman of Waterloo. Dear sister of Joanne Barfoot (Mike), Bert Koeslag (Wendy), Bill Koeslag (Patti), and sister-in-law of Wayne Ritchie (Darlene). Dinie will also be dearly missed by her many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by her parents, Albert and Johanna Koeslag, and by her in-laws, Leona Ritchie-Shaw, Spencer Ritchie and Earl Shaw.
Dinie was a dedicated teacher at Dufferin Elementary. In her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and volunteering at the hospital gift shop.
Visitation will be held at the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Wednesday, June 23rd from 1 – 3 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. All attendees must wear a mask, follow social distancing protocols and schedule a time through Dinie’s memorial webpage, or by calling or emailing the funeral home. A private funeral service to celebrate Dinie’s life will be held on Thursday, June 24th. Although the service is private, family and friends are welcome to view the service via livestream through the funeral home website at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Georgian Bluffs.
