Peacefully surrounded by the love of his family at Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound, on March 9, 2022. Born in Owen Sound on November 5, 1938, Douglas Wain Holdaway of RR#2 Kemble, was in his 84th year.
Beloved husband of the late Helen (née Forbes) Holdaway. Loving father of Terry Holdaway and his wife Sandra of Owen Sound. Proud grandfather of Larry Loughlean-Johnston. Doug is also survived by his son-in-law Randy Johnston and his wife Lynda of Williamsford, and by his sisters Judy and Fran.
Predeceased by his parents Howard and Eleanor (née Sprung) Holdaway, his daughter Debbie Loughlean-Johnston, his son David Holdaway, his grandson Danny Loughlean-Johnston, his son-in-law Doug Loughlean, by his brother Bev Holdaway (Ruby), and by his sisters-in-law Marg (Glen) Voland and Beth (Phil) Henley.
A funeral service to celebrate Doug’s life will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, Owen Sound, on Monday, March 14, 2022, at 11 a.m. Arrangements entrusted to Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of choice would be appreciated.
