Dr. Edwin Alexander Gaviller

Edwin passed away peacefully at Chapman House Hospice on Thursday, January 2, 2025. Born in Owen Sound on Saturday, January 15, 1927, Dr. Edwin Alexander Gaviller of Kemble, was in his 98th year.
Beloved husband and best friend of Darlyn Gaviller (nee Porter) for 46 years. Loving father of Chuck (Curry), Patricia (Bligh), Susan (Len), David (Sandra), Cathy, Jane (Paul) and Louise (Paul). Wonderful grandfather of Alex, Joe (Kelsey), Patrick, Zach (Sara), Austin (Jane), Kyle (Claudia), Jacqueline, Ellen, Jake, Chris and Dylan. Cherished great-grandfather of August, June and Raymond. Ed will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Predeceased by his parents Hilda and Dr. Charles Gaviller, his sister Frances, brother Charles, his son Scott and his granddaughter Kelsi.
Ed graduated from the University of Toronto Medical School in 1954 and started medical practice in Owen Sound in 1956, where he spent 50 years dedicated to serving the community. Ed’s family wishes to extend their sincere thank you to Dr. Collins, the 6th floor staff at Brightshores Health System Owen Sound, and to the staff at Chapman House Hospice, all for their wonderful care provided to Ed in his final days. In keeping with Ed’s wishes, cremation is taking place and interment in Greenwood Cemetery.
