Elgin Charles Hutchinson

Passed away peacefully at the Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound, on Monday, August 9, 2021. Born on February 8, 1928, Elgin Charles Hutchinson of Owen Sound and formerly of Annan, was in his 94th year.
Dearly loved husband and best friend for 54 years of the late Phyllis Hutchinson (née Fraser) (August 23, 2005). Loving father of Bill Hutchinson (Helen) and Al Hutchinson (Elaine) both of Owen Sound, Joanne Doupe (Brad) of Mitchell, Janis Hutchinson (Ken Noland) of Manitoulin Island and Scott Hutchinson (Deb Brookes) of Bognor. Proud grandfather of 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Marion Ward of Owen Sound, Elva Wamsley of Walkerton, Muriel Alexander of Manitoba, Irene Rogers (Paul) of Owen Sound, and brother-in-law of Jean, Trudy and Marilyn Hutchinson, and Barbara Fraser, all of Owen Sound. Elgin will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends.
Predeceased by his parents Stanley and Nellie Hutchinson, his son Bob Hutchinson, siblings Merle Hutchinson, Lillian Sitter (George), Norm, Melville and Keith Hutchinson, siblings-in-law Harold Ward, Clayton Wamsley, Art Alexander, parents-in-law William and Jessie Fraser, and also by his Fraser in-laws.
Visitation will be held at the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Thursday, August 12th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Guests must wear a mask and follow social distancing protocols. A private funeral service to celebrate Elgin’s life will be held on Friday, August 13th at 11 a.m. Although the service is private, friends are welcome to watch via livestream on the funeral home website (woodfuneralhome.ca). Interment will follow in Annan Cemetery and all are welcome to attend at the cemetery.
