Beth passed away suddenly with her loving family by her side in Owen Sound, on Saturday, July 16th, 2022. Born on November 16th, 1934 in Chesley, Elizabeth Helena Gibson (nee McAllister) was in her 88th year.
Dear wife of the late Harold Gibson for 21 years. Beloved mother of Karen Gibson (John, deceased), Elaine Gibson (Howard), Cheryl Gibson (Ross) and Sheila Gibson. Dear sister of Janette Wagner (Jim). Cherished nana of Lauren (Cory), Jaclyn (Jon), Meghan (Mike), Jaffa (Tim) and great-nana of James, Willa, Brendan, Ellis and Oake. Beth is loved and remembered by her extended grandchildren Sarah and Ryan (Marie-Pierre) and her extended great-grandchildren Abigail and Benjamin. Fondly missed by her nephews Steven (Kym), Travis (Katie), her niece Tracey (Jordan) and their families.
Predeceased by her parents John McAllister, Dorothy Friar (nee Walpole), her stepfather Fred Friar, her stepsister Freda Friar, her son-in law John Christian and her grandson Ryan Gibson.
Beth was passionate about being a part of and caring for the community of Grey Bruce. She worked as a nurse for 35 years and was a former Red Cross supervisor for care supporters in homes. Beth volunteered some of her free time helping at her local hospital, her church and was a member of a Prevention of Falls Committee with Public Health. She was a faithful member of St. Andrews Church. Beth was a caring woman who touched the hearts of many through a helping hand.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the wonderful nurses, doctors and staff at Grey Bruce Health Services for all the compassionate care Beth received while in their facility.
A funeral service for Beth will be held at the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492 on Friday, July 22nd, 2022 at 2 p.m. with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Owen Sound immediately following the service.
