Mae was born in Brampton, Ontario on Feb. 28, 1935. She met the love of her life in 1949 when Dad was working for Armstrongs right beside her house. Dad made an excuse to ask for a glass of water and the rest is history!! They were married in July 1951, had 9 children. They lost 2 girls, Janet in a fire at 16 months, and Catherine of meningitis at 4 years old. They moved to Owen Sound in the summer of 1968 to start another adventure. Mom worked tirelessly on raising her kids and helping with the business as well as keeping the house going. Mom was a devoted Christian to the 7th Day Adventist Church and enjoyed going to church on Saturdays. She loved her church family. Although there were good and bad times, Mom’s faith was never in question. Her enduring love of family was beyond measure as she was so kind, respectable and had the patience of a saint! Everyone who knew Mom would say you were fortunate to know the dearest woman. She always had an ear to listen, or just sit and hold your hand. Our cherished ‘Mom’ will always be missed, and thought of each and every day.
