After a brief illness at St. Mary’s Hospital in Kitchener, on Friday morning, October 30th, 2020. Florence Alberta Hamilton (nee Wilkinson), of Owen Sound, at the age of 84 years.
Dearly beloved wife of Garnet Hamilton for 66 years. Loving mother of Brent and Patti Hamilton, of Brantford, Pamela Morrison, Hal Hamilton and Stephen and Heather Hamilton, all of Owen Sound, Kim and Jeff Bolt, of Orangeville and Mark and Lisa Hamilton, of Owen Sound.
Cherished grandmother of 16 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Dorothy McCulloch and sister-in-law of John McKinnon, Clarence and Eleanor Hamilton, Harold Hamilton and Donna Jean Hamilton. Florence will be missed by her many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents, Albert and Susan Wilkinson; her siblings, Hazel Stephens; her great-grandchild, Henry Anderson; her in-laws, William Stephens, Edward McCulloch, Elma McKinnon and Jim Hamilton; her parents-in-law, Wallace and Ida Hamilton.
Florence has lived in Owen Sound for over 60 years and was a dedicated nurse who retired from the MacKinnon Phillips Hospital and the Grey Bruce Health Services after 33 years of service.
Friends may call at the BRIAN E. WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 250 – 14th Street West, Owen Sound, Ontario N4K 3X8 (519-376-7492) on Friday from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, 50 people will be allowed in the building at any given time and visitors are required to wear a mask and follow physical distancing rules. A Private Funeral Service for Florence Hamilton will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, November 7th, 2020 with Rev. Kristal McGee officiating. Interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Georgian Bluffs at a later date.
