Peacefully at Brightshores Health System – Owen Sound on Tuesday, December 12, 2023. Born in Owen Sound on July 9, 1944, Frederick “Bud” Lenard John Jones of Owen Sound, was in his 80th year.
Beloved husband of Bonita Jones (nee Meloche) of Owen Sound. Loving father of Christine Jarvis of London, Michelle Andrews (Ian) of Owen Sound, and Andrew Jones (Joanne) of Owen Sound. Cherished grandpa of Lee, Kiley, Caleb, Rebecca and Jack. Great grandpa of Gabriel. Dear brother of Barry Jones of Owen Sound, and Brian Jones (Lynn) of St. Thomas. Brother in law of Mary Watson (Larry) of Goderich, Bill Meloche (Marlene) of Owen Sound, Tom Meloche (Peggy-Ann) of London, Nick Meloche (Jenny) of Owen Sound, Darcy Meloche (Christy) of Guelph, and Robert Meloche (Janet) of Owen Sound. Fred will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Predeceased by his parents Fred and Eleanor Jones, and by his sister in law Donna Croft (Larry).
Memorial visitation will be held atBrian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Friday, December 15, 2023, from 5-8 p.m. A memorial service will be held at St. Mary’s & The Missions Catholic Church, 554 15th St E, Owen Sound, on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 11 a.m. Interment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery at a later date.
