Georgina Blanche "Jo" Shaw-Gibbons

Passed away peacefully at London University Hospital, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. Born in Keppel Township on January 27, 1928, Georgina Blanche Shaw-Gibbons (nee Galbraith) of Owen Sound, was in her 96th year. Beloved wife of the late Jim Shaw (2002) and the late George Gibbons (2017). Precious mother of Karen Jackson (Bev) of Owen Sound, Jim Shaw (Clarice) of Wiarton, special mom of Penny Klages (Jeff) of Shallow Lake and mother in law to Lee Shaw of Owen Sound. Cherished grandma of Greg, Jennifer, Carolyn, Ryan, Gina, Colan and Ian. Loved great grandma of Meg, Ella, Alexandra, Caleb, Gabriel, Spencer, Skye, Clara, Madison, Ezra and Hudson. Dear sister of Raymond Galbraith (Barb) of Ottawa, Keith Galbraith (Joyce) of Keady and Edith Noble (David Lake) of Owen Sound. Dear step mother to Richard Gibbons (Carolyn) of Cranberry Portage, Manitoba. Jo will also be missed by her extended family, nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by her sons Brian Shaw (1987) (Penny) and Steve Shaw (2017), by her infant granddaughter Clarissa Shaw, by her parents Clifford and Clara Galbraith, and by her siblings Doris Lambkin-Gibbons, Olive Shaw and Elmer Galbraith. Visitation will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Sunday, November 19, 2023, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate Jo’s life will be held at the funeral home on Monday, November 20, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place in Zion Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to Sauble Christian Fellowship Church or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
