Peacefully at Lee Manor in Owen Sound, on Monday, February 10th, 2025. Iona Dorean Wilson (nee Wood), of Owen Sound, at the age of 92 years.
Dearly loved wife of the late Donald Allan Wilson. Loving mother of Gayle Barnard and her husband, Bill, Norma Beattie and her husband, Paul and Douglas Wilson and his wife, Deborah. Proud grandmother of Angela (David), Curtis (Stacey), Jason (Virginia), Warren (Sherry), Ian (Kate), April (David) and great-grandmother of: Austin, Eric, Alyssa, Makayla, Chase, Selah, Max, Lily and Jack. Dear sister of Les Wood, and sister-in-law of Doreen McGregor. Iona will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Ethel Wood (nee Richardson); her siblings Mable Boelk and her husband Bob, Harold Wood, James Wood and his wife Betty Wood, Eunice Brown, Beryl Harvey and her husband Ernie Harvey and her sister-in-law Gwen Wood.
A funeral service to celebrate Iona’s life will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492 on Monday, April 14, 2025 at 11 a.m. followed by a reception at the funeral home. The service will be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person, and a recorded version will be posted online. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery.
