Isobel Jackson passed away peacefully at the Meaford Long Term Care Centre with her loving family by her side on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at the age of 88.
Born in Toronto on July 29, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Isobel (nee Coulter) Mitchell.
Isobel was the adored wife and best friend of Robert ‘Bob’ Jackson of Meaford. She was predeceased by her husband Lowell ‘Tim’ Pegg in 1991.
She was the kind, caring and much loved mother of Stuart Pegg and his wife Debbie of Collingwood.
Isobel was the proud and doting Grandma and Great Grandma of Melinda Liauba (John) of Oakville and their children Cameron and Alanna, and Grandma of Preston Pegg of Chatham.
She was predeceased by her loving sister Marlene Rosborough (late Claude) and will be fondly remembered by her niece and nephew, Dyan Oliver and Ryan Rosborough who both loved her dearly. Isobel always thought of others before herself. She was an extremely kind hearted woman and a wonderful mother. She bought Stuart everything he ever asked for ‘except for a set of drums!’ She spent many years working for the Town of Meaford as a secretary and met many lifelong friends during her time with the town. She was a proud member of the Eastern Star and enjoyed her time volunteering with the Georgian Theatre.
Due to the present Covid-19 restrictions, there will be a private family visitation at Ferguson Funeral Home and a private graveside service will be conducted at Lakeview Cemetery in Meaford.
As your expression of sympathy, donations to the Meaford Nursing Home Auxiliary (cheques only please) where Isobel received excellent care or the Alzheimer Society Grey Bruce would be appreciated and may be made through the Ferguson Funeral Home, 48 Boucher St. E., Meaford, ON N4L 1B9 to whom arrangements have been entrusted.
