The Reverend John “Jack” F. Tweddle passed away at the age of 88 surrounded by his loving family at his home on Thursday, March 11, 2021. He will be missed by his church families including Shallow Lake, Central Westside and First United Church. Born and raised in Fergus, Ontario Jack had a full and rich life initially in the Insurance Industry, then returning later in life to the University of Toronto to complete his Masters of Divinity. He touched so many lives in a loving and caring manner eventually settling in Owen Sound. Dad will be leaving a wonderful legacy as a father, husband, grandfather, friend and minister. A life very well lived.

Loving father who will be greatly missed by Barbara Wotherspoon (Swatty Wotherspoon) of Collingwood, Mary Thomson (Scott Thomson) of Owen Sound, Patricia Gilbert (Tom Ballantyne) of Collingwood and John Tweddle (Gilsa Tweddle) of Toronto. Cherished Grandpa of Anne Thomson-Cook (Britton Cook), Jane Thomson (Jarrett Woodhouse), Mack Thomson (Kara Thomson), Jeff Thomson (Madeline Torrie) and Jenny, Mary and Peter Gilbert. Special step grandfather of Scott Wotherspoon (Meg), Kipp Wotherspoon (Lindsay), Courtney Wotherspoon (Trevor Byrne) and 8 great grandchildren. Dear brother-in-law of Barbara Stevens of Guelph and Ralph Barford of Toronto.
Predeceased by his parents Inez and Jack Tweddle, in-laws Howard and Helen Stevens and siblings-in-law Elizabeth Barford, John Stevens and Robert Stevens (Elizabeth).
Visitation will be held at the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Thursday, March 18, 2021, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. With COVID19 restrictions all attendees must wear a mask, follow social distancing protocols and RSVP through the funeral home website, or by calling the funeral home. A private funeral service to celebrate Reverend Jack Tweddle’s life will be held on Friday, March 19, 2021, with Reverend Kristal McGee officiating. Although the service is private, friends are welcome to view the service via livestream at 11 a.m. by selecting the ‘LIVE STREAMING’ menu option at the top right corner of the funeral home website (woodfuneralhome.ca). A video recording of the service will also be posted to Reverend Jack’s memorial webpage later in the day. Interment will take place later in the spring at Belsyde Cemetery, Fergus, Ontario.
