Janet Anne Woodhouse

Janet Woodhouse passed away peacefully at her home in Markdale on Friday, February 4, 2022 at the age of 77.
Born in Osprey Township on May 23, 1944, Janet was a daughter of the late Sylvester and Amy (nee Grummett) Holmes.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband David Woodhouse in 2014 and her son Scott Woodhouse in 2003.
Janet was the kind and generous mother of Mark Woodhouse and his wife Kelly.
She was the very proud ‘Grandma Janet’ to her grandchildren Sawyer, Marly and Nixon, and loved to play the piano and spend time reading with them all.
Janet was predeceased by her brothers Don and Jack Holmes. She will be fondly remembered by her sister and brother-in-laws and her many nieces, nephews and their families.
For many years Janet, David and the boys worked together on their family dairy farm. Janet was a very patient teacher and taught at various schools in the area. She would go where she was needed most as a supply teacher when she wasn’t teaching full time. She loved her church family and was a faithful member of St. James Fairmount Anglican Church. Janet thoroughly enjoyed her time volunteering at Grey Gables Nursing Home in Markdale. She was very generous with her time when others needed assistance or an extra set of hands. She treasured her time spent with friends at the Markdale Senior Citizen’s Club and liked to keep busy helping others in any way she could.
A private family funeral service will be conducted at the Ferguson Funeral Home.
There will be a public celebration of Janet’s life and a service of committal and interment at St. James Fairmount Anglican Church and Cemetery in the spring. The date will be announced as soon as it is available.
