Passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s General Hospital in Kitchener on March 27, 2024. Born in Owen Sound on September 25, 1938, John “Leslie” Carr, was in his 86th year.
Beloved husband of Fern Carr (nee Turner). Loving father of David (Debbie), Tom (Linda), Kimberley (Mike) and Ted (Jennifer). Cherished Poppy of Andrew (Tyler), Greg (Kayla), Kathleen (Ryan), Amber, Yasmin, Tallys, Carrmin, Tyler (Dusa), Mac, Lauren (Robert), Jamieson and Bennett. Special great-Poppy of Austin. Godfather of Brent Stock.
Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Pearl Carr(nee Crampton).
Memorial visitation will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Friday April 5, 2024, from 6-8 p.m. A memorial service to celebrate Les’s life will be held at the funeral home on Saturday April 6, 2024, at 2p.m., with Kristal McGee officiating, followed by a reception at the funeral home. For those unable to attend in person, a recorded version will be posted online.
Interment will take place in Mount Pleasant Cemetery at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to Heart & Stroke Foundation, Central-Westside United Church,Grey Bruce Animal Shelter or to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 6 Owen Sound would be appreciated.
