Suddenly at home on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. Born in Southampton on December 18, 1942, John Wesley Huff of Owen Sound was in his 83rd year.
Beloved husband of the late Colleen Huff (nee Hepburn). Loving father of Penny Faulkner (Brian) of Oro-Medonte, Jeannie Wideman (Paul Fenn) of Kitchener, Wendy McRobb (Craig) of Denver, and John Huff Jr. (Kimi) of London. Cherished grandpa of Jackie (Steve), Joel, Lindsay (Chad), Kyle, and Cameron. Proud great-grandpa of Olivia and Caidyn. Dear brother of Lois Armstrong (Dick). John will also be missed by his nieces, nephews and friends.
Predeceased by his parents Sam and Olive Huff.
“Jack” was a proud military veteran, having served as a Radioman Special in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1961-1964. He was a stand-out hockey and baseball player as a younger man, and enjoyed a 40-year career in the construction and maintenance industry. Later in life he developed a passion for hiking and spent countless hours exploring the Bruce Trail.
He is fondly remembered for his generous spirit and his many, many colourful stories.
A funeral service to celebrate John’s life will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Monday, January 27, 2025, at 12:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior. Spring interment will take place in Southampton Cemetery.
