It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a much loved and generous Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma. With her daughter and granddaughter by her side, Joy Kathleen McLean passed from this world at the Meaford Long Care Home on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at the age of 87.
Born in Guildford, Surrey, England on February 11, 1934, she was the only child of Archibald John Mills and Dorothy Mary (nee Warmington) Mills.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband William McCormick McLean of Glasglow Scotland and Meaford area, and her granddaughter Laura Lynn McNally. She will be greatly missed by her daughters Janice Kathleen McLean-Ramage (Ross) of Chatsworth and Judy Wendy Lynn McNally of Kemptville. She was the much loved Grandmother of Georgina Mae Ramage (Eric), Victor John Ramage (Jessica), Justin William Keith McNally, and Byran Andrew John McNally, and Great-Grandmother of Owen McNally.
Joy immigrated with her mother from England to Canada after the War to reside in Ottawa, Ontario. While there Joy met her future husband Bill and raised her two girls. Joy’s occupations were that of a hairdresser and florist. Joy and Bill retired to Meaford in 1985. She was an avid gardener and joined the Meaford Creative Art Association as an enthusiastic painter.
A private service will be held at Lakeview Cemetery in Meaford. As your expression of sympathy, donations to the Diabetes Association would be appreciated and may be made through the Ferguson Funeral Home, 48 Boucher St. E., Meaford, ON N4L 1B9 to whom arrangements have been entrusted.
