The family of Joyce Diana McFarlane (nee Barker) announce with sadness her passing on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at the age of 96.
Predeceased by her loving husband Doug of 49 years, her mother Florence Barker and father Jack.
Joyce was the loving and caring mother of Laurie James (Glyn), Craig McFarlane (Susan) and Ginny McFarlane (Bill). She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Erin James (Derek), Evan James (Tiffany), Summer Cumberland (Dan), Lindsay McFarlane, Craig McFarlane (Lauren), Robin Schulman (Alex) and Douglas Bishop (Alix). She will be missed by great grandchildren Eileigh, Brynn, Connor, Coen, Jaxon, Cameron, Zoe and Piper.
Joyce loved music and was a member of a choir most of her life. She sang in the Meaford United Church Choir for many years. She loved attending church services and concerts. She was an amazing baker, sewer and knitter. She volunteered at her church and was the treasurer for her UCW group for many years. Joyce was an avid Blue Jays fan and knew all their stats. She was a kind, gentle, thoughtful soul and she will be sadly missed by so many.
A service for Joyce will be held at the Ferguson Funeral Home in Meaford, on Wednesday, July 27 at 11 o’clock with visitation one hour prior to the service. All are invited to a reception at the Meaford United Church following the interment. Rev. Ed Hoekstra from St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Owen Sound will be officiating.
