Sadly, June passed away at Surrey Memorial Hospital in British Columbia on August 11. Born in Bognor, Ontario in 1933, June was a teacher for 35 years.  She started in a one room school, but taught grades 1 and 2 for most of her career, teaching the longest at Derby Public School.  June moved to British Columbia in 2015 to be with her daughter and granddaughters (after visiting every year for 20 years!).  June’s positivity, strength, kindness, generosity and understanding were an inspiration and comfort to anyone who got to know her.

June was predeceased by her husband, Roy, and her son, John.  She will be greatly missed by daughter Jennifer, son-in-law Paul, and granddaughters Sophia and Kiera – and by all who knew and loved her.  A Celebration of Life will be held at Bognor Hall on July 15, 2023.
