Peacefully at Brightshores Health System – Owen Sound on Tuesday, April 23, 2024. Born in Owen Sound on September 27, 1941, Kathleen Karen Belrose (nee Barnes) of Owen Sound, was in her 83rd year.
Beloved wife of the late Roy Belrose. Loving mother of Keri Molson (Mark) of Oshawa, Randi Belrose (Deb) of Owen Sound and Karoline Belrose of Owen Sound. Cherished Nana of Kyle (Leanna), Brandon (Rachel), Jennifer (Adam), Kristen and Jessica. Great Nana of Logan, Adalynn and Zayden. Dear sister of Cherryl Barnes of Underwood. Sister-in-law of John Christie of Owen Sound and Blair Mirrlees of Owen Sound. Karen will be missed by her nieces and nephews Robert, Edward (Melissa), John, Dan (Cherise), Stacie (Jeff) and Chris (Patty).
Predeceased by her parents Harold and Florence Barnes, sister Maryann Christie, and by her sister-in-law Helen White (Jim).
Karen was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion in Owen Sound and was a longtime member of the Blue Water Curling Club. Over the years, Karen and Roy loved their time spent camping with friends and family members.
Karen’s family would like to extend a big thank you to all the ER doctors, nurses, support workers, Unit 6-2 and Ambulatory Care for all of the care and compassion given to Mom over the last few months and her final moments. Your level of professionalism was a great comfort to Mom and her family. Special thanks to Melinda Cornfield for always being there for Mom. You were such great strength when she needed the love and support to keep her going.
Visitation will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, from 7-9 p.m. A memorial service to celebrate Karen’s life will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, May 2, 2024. at 11 a.m. Interment will take place in Mount Pleasant Cemetery at a later date.
