Barfoot, Ken – Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound, on May 8, 2021.
Born in Derby Township on February 15, 1932, Kenneth Merton Barfoot of Owen Sound, was in his 90th year.
Survived by his loving wife and best friend for 69 years, Ileen (née Awde) Barfoot.
Loving father of Debbie Folkerson of Sauble Beach (John of Phelpston), Leanne Walker (Jim) of Dobbinton, Guy Barfoot (Debbie) of Kilsyth and Andy Barfoot (Julie) of Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
Cherished grandpa of Nick Folkerson (Tori), Jeremy Folkerson (Ashley), Jessica Folkerson, Ben Walker (Tracy), Natalie Walker (Colby Brill), Chris Walker (Taylor), Lance Barfoot (Ashly), Wade Barfoot (April), and great-grandpa of Vivian Folkerson, Weston, Brynlee and Henry Walker and Jordan Di Cesare. Ken is also missed by his sisters, Gladys Martin of Hanover, Darlene Bateman (Ray) of Mississauga, Carolyn England (Larry) of Ottawa, Elaine Pate (Bill) of Burlington, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Predeceased by his parents Merton and Rheta (née Mooney) Barfoot, by his brothers, Lorne Barfoot (Betty), Bill Barfoot, and by his brother-in-law Gord Martin.
A private funeral service to celebrate Ken’s life will be held at the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Wednesday, May 12, 2021. Although the service is private, family and friends are welcome to view the service via livestream through the funeral home website beginning at 2 p.m. The recorded version will also be posted to Ken’s memorial webpage. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Owen Sound.
