Passed away peacefully at Grey Bruce Hospice – Chapman House on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024. Born in Owen Sound on August 29, 1961, Kimberley Anne Lougheed of Owen Sound, was in her 63rd year.
Loving sister of Jill Newgard (Christopher) of Hawaii and Greg Lougheed (Marleen) of Owen Sound. Cherished and proud aunt of Evan, Jack, Eric and Jody. Dear niece of Marg Davis (Bill), Kathy Foster, Wanda Lougheed and Laverna Davidson. Kim will also be missed by all of her cousins and friends.
Predeceased by her parents Warren and Elda Lougheed.
Kim was a graduate of Western University majoring in Political Science. She had an avid interest in politics, history, and current events. Kim loved her family and would spend countless hours on the phone staying in touch with one and all. She was kindhearted, compassionate, and generous with everyone she encountered in her life. Kim had a great love for animals, especially her cherished cat Rosita.
Kim’s family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACT), all the nurses, social workers and many others who took such great care of Kim over the years. A very special thank you to Kim’s Palliative Care Team for their compassionate care, especially Drs. Kelly Fenn, Alex Hodgson, Alison Barfoot, Lindsey Chapman and all the fantastic nurses and staff at GBHS and Grey Bruce Hospice – Chapman House.
A funeral service to celebrate Kim’s life will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 11 a.m.
