After a short battle, passed with his loving wife by his side on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Hanover & District Hospital, of Flesherton in his 71st year. Beloved husband of Nancy(nee Harrison). Dear brother D. Bruce(Andrea) of Saskatchewan. Predeceased by his parents Gordon & Sylvia Batchelor. Cherished son in –law of Royden and the late Donna Harrison, and brother in-law of Bonnie(Ken) McCormick and Trish(Ronnie) Gillies. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Larry was raised in Dundalk and graduated from Dundalk & District High School. He attended Ryerson University in Toronto and graduated in 1972 with a degree in Architectural Technology. Upon finishing, he came home to be with Nancy and started working for Centre Grey Builders in Markdale, until he and his father, Gordon, bought a construction business together and started Batchelor Building. He and Nancy built their beautiful home on Bonnie Brae Place in Flesherton in 1974 and had many happy memories there. Larry built multiple beautiful homes and he took great pride in his work. Together, Nancy and Larry, enjoyed a lot of traveling and took up golfing. And they had almost 20 years of spending their winters in Texas and loved every minute of it. This loss will be felt in the Batchelor family as well as thorough out the community and Grey County.
Due to the current COVID-9 situation, a private family service has taken place. He was laid to rest at McNeil cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Hanover & District Hospital or the Centre Grey Health Services Foundation would be gratefully appreciated.
