Laura Craig passed away peacefully at Georgian Bay General Hospital in Midland on Thursday, December 16, 2021in her 96th year.
Born in Meaford on March 25, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Wilbert and Ethel (nee Ferguson) Taylor.
Laura was predeceased by her beloved husband Wilfred Craig in 1995.
She was the much loved mother of Linda Ormsby (late Don), Bob Craig (Anne), and Sheri Evans (Brad).
Laura was the proud grandma and great grandma of Kerri Lewin (Todd) and Kurtis, Rachel, Jordyn; Lisa Ormsby and Andrew and Lauren; Jamie Craig (Kate) and Julia and Samuel; Nicole Craig and Emerald; Jessica Evans and Makenna; and Emily Evans.
She was predeceased by her sisters; Hazel Dougherty (Frank), Dorothy Frawley (Doug), Amy Wilcox (Jack), Eleanor Flug, and by her brother Stewart Taylor. She is survived by her brother-in-law Paul Flug and was predeceased by her sisters-in-law Doris House and Helen Rayner and brothers-in-law Allan Craig (Jenn) and Homer Craig (Nan) and will be remembered fondly by her many nieces, nephews and their families.
Laura was a member of the Rebekahs Lodge and dedicated many years volunteering at the Meaford Legion with Ladies Auxiliary. She helped at countless brunches and Remembrance Day dinners. Laura had a fondness for flowers, and furry and feathered friends. She and Wilfred will always be remembered for their ‘Sailing Days’ … yard sales that is!
Respecting Laura’s expressed wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or memorial service. Interment will take place at Lakeview Cemetery.
