Lucy Isabel Burgess (nee Huffman) was born on April 20, 1937, in the Toronto area, peacefully passed away on October 19, 2024, at the age of 87 in Meaford, Ontario.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched everyone.
Survived by her devoted husband and soul mate Chuck Burgess, sons Chuck Jr., Calvin (Carl), Randy (Lisa) and daughter Kimberly Kleven (Jeff), sisters Gwen Carson (Gord), Linda Dix (Gord), sister-in-law Vale Hryciw, and predeceased by oldest sister June Ward (Les).
Greatly missed by many grandchildren and great grandchildren who will carry forward her legacy. She was affectionately known as Aunty Bell to her nieces and nephews.
Family was always important to Isabel as seen by her many family reunions she loved to organize. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all those who knew her. She will be dearly missed.
‘If you want to know true love, just look at us.’ Isabel loved and was loved in return. She was an active member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church for fifty years. Isabel had a love for art, travel, and nature. She was an artist whose love of nature inspired her many paintings which can be found from coast to coast.
Family will receive friends for a public visitation on Wednesday October 23, 2024, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Ferguson Funeral Home in Meaford. Family and Friends will gather for a private service on Thursday October 24th, 2024, with interment following at Lakeview Cemetery in Meaford. A celebration of Isabel’s life will be held on a later date.
